Hawaii high school students tapped to fill medical assistant shortage

Mae Dorado, associate professor at Kapiolani Community College, instructs her Hawaii Pacific Health students in the medical assisting program class on how to properly take off their plastic gloves, at Straub Pearlridge Clinic. Students are there for their weekly training and clinical practice. HPH is working with KCC and five public high schools to create the HPH Medical Assistant Program to relieve a shortage.
