“Da Pidgin Guerrilla” Lee A. Tonouchi returns with five more snack-related items:
1. Does your infant feel left out when you go beach or to da family picnic cuz while everybody stay enjoying their Spam musubis, your infant no mo’ even teeth yet? Luckily Toshi Tots came up with this cool Spam musubi baby rattle made from fabric.
Not for eating, but at least da little keiki can feel like part of da family and have one Spam musubi too!
The rattle costs $20 at Eden in Love at South Shore Market in Ward Village or go to etsy.com/shop/toshitots.
2. Whether it be at home or at da office, you ever wondered who da buggah das kakaroaching all your snacks? Well, wondah no more with Kikkerland’s Cat Talking Bag Clip, a clever snack theft-deterrent system.
Just clip da bag shut and soon as somebody tries for eat your chips, this guard cat will be one “tattle tail” and unleash one super annoying “MEOW.”
Each clip is $5.99 at Foodland stores.
3. As one kid, my friend Nicole Satsuma used to suck off all da chocolate from her chocolate-covered macadamia nuts and her grandpa used to eat da nut that she spit out, cuz “No good waste,” he said.
For fun, cuz I really like Macadamia Roca (and not cuz I mean), I made her try this chocolate-covered candy knowing she hates mac nuts and she no care for da buttercrunch toffee goodness that is regular Almond Roca.
Da funny ting is she ended up fully loving this! Weird yeah. Or maybe not, cuz Macadamia Roca’s been out for a few years now, but da ting just keeps gaining fans as more people discover it, or are forced to discover it. Lol.
A 4.9-ounce box is $6.59 at Longs Drugs stores.
4. Lotta people love bacon. Myself included, das why I wuz curious for try Marty’s Baconette Strips.
Da packaging hypes its “No-meat goodness.” Kinda tastes like one really crisp bacon without all da greasiness. Soooo addicting.
A 3.17-ounce bag is $3.29 at Don Quijote stores.
5. This is kinda like one Asian version of da jerky and nut protein snack pack trend das popular now. My friend Julia Ishado went Hokkaido and fell in love with this fish almond snack.
When she returned from Japan, she even translated da ingredients so she could try re-creating it. While she wuz doing that, I figured ah, maybe can find ‘em in da store. And I did!
Looks kinda gross, but tastes good. Find them at Don Quijote stores for $2.69.
