If the state of Hawaii permits mental- care patients to live in residential neighborhoods, it should treat the establishment like a hospital and not allow fireworks within the same distance. Many of the patients might be veterans and might have a flashback if loud fireworks were to explode nearby.

I don’t know why a lady was stabbed recently in Pearl City. But I do know loud illegal fireworks were heard about the same time the stabbing occurred at the mental-care home.
