A pair of armed assailants accused of robbing a group at a home in the Ala Moana area were aided by a female friend of one of the victims, according to court documents.

Keoki Cabebe, 32, and Stacey Costales, 34, also known as Stacey Maae, are in custody at the Oahu Community Correctional Center in lieu of $100,000 bail each. Prosecutors charged them with first-degree robbery and three firearm offenses in connection with the brazen crime, which occurred May 15.

The woman who allegedly aided them has not been located.

Police said a 46-year-old woman who was assaulted during the robbery said the woman, who she considered a friend, assisted Cabebe and Costales by bringing them to the home.

This friend was with the 46-year-old woman and several others at the home on Kahakai Drive at around 3:30 p.m., when she left and returned a half-hour later with Cabebe and Costales, according to court documents.

Cabebe allegedly brandished a silver semi- automatic handgun and repeatedly yelled, “Give me all your bags!”

Costales allegedly pulled out a black, loaded, sawed-off shotgun from her bag.

When the 46-year-old female victim refused to comply, Costales struck her in the face with the gun, grabbed her bag, took several rings from her fingers and removed a watch from her wrist, according to police.

Cabebe allegedly punched the 46-year-old woman in the head when she said police would catch them.

After Cabebe placed all of the victims’ backpacks, purses and other bags in a large plastic garbage bag, he fled the home with Costales and two other women in a dark blue Chevrolet Tracker parked on the road in front of the residence.

The injured victim called 911.

Police issued an all-points bulletin on the SUV and the suspects.

Emergency Medical Services personnel took the 46-year-old woman to The Queen’s Medical Center, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

At about 4:45 p.m. May 15, police responded to a “suspicious circumstances” call of possible drug activity involving occupants in a parked vehicle at the parking lot of 1816 Dole St.

When they arrived, an officer recognized the vehicle, which matched the description from the APB.

Cabebe ran from the vehicle toward Dole Street. Police quickly apprehended him near the intersection of Dole and Alexander streets.

Police removed three women, including Costales, from the SUV.

Three of the robbery victims positively identified Cabebe but did not identify any of the females.

Police arrested two additional women, ages 21 and 30, on multiple criminal contempt of court offenses.

Officers initially arrested Costales on a $20,000 bench warrant after prosecutors charged her earlier this month with accidents involving substantial bodily injury and operating a vehicle without a license in connection with a 2018 hit-and-run case.

Upon further investigation, police arrested her Friday at the Oahu Community Correctional Center for involvement in the armed robbery case.

Cabebe has a criminal record of felony robbery, felony assault and felony unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, auto theft as well as misdemeanor theft and misdemeanor criminal trespassing.

Costales has a criminal record of felony burglary and felony auto theft. Her record also includes unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant, driving without a license and theft.
