Bruno Mars guilty plea delayed in Las Vegas arrest

LAS VEGAS — A Las Vegas judge has postponed a court hearing where singer Bruno Mars was expected to plead guilty on a felony cocaine charge.

Hearing Master Melisa De La Garza agreed Monday to reschedule the hearing for Wednesday.

The singer whose real name is Peter Hernandez did not appear in court on Monday and it was unclear whether he will attend the hearing on Wednesday.

Defense attorney Richard Schonfeld requested the change. He declined to comment.

Mars had agreed not to contest police accounts that he possessed 2.6 grams of cocaine when he was arrested in September in Las Vegas. If he stays out of trouble for a year, the felony will be removed from his record.

Mars won best male pop vocal performance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.
