SAN FRANCISCO >> A United Airlines jet carrying 185 people made an emergency landing at San Francisco International Airport after smoke fumes were reported in the passenger cabin.
United Airlines spokesman Mike Trevino says San Francisco-bound Flight 479, which originated in Las Vegas, landed safely at the airport around 7 p.m. Friday.
Trevino says there were 179 passengers and six crewmembers on board. There were no injuries.
It was not known what caused the smoke fumes, but Trevino says the plane was being inspected by maintenance crews.
Also, paramedics met another United flight when a passenger became ill. Trevino says they were waiting for Flight 449 out of Boston when it landed at 8:42 p.m. after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.
