Police report Maui infant found

Maui police have located the eight-month baby girl believed to have been kidnapped Wednesday night.

Police this morning issued a bulletin requesting the public’s help in locating a 21 year-old Wailuku woman believed to have kidnapped the child.

After issuing the bulletin Maui police just before noon said the child had been found, but did not release details, except to say the baby girl  is in “good health” and was turned over to authorities.

There were no other details on whether the woman, Riana Lee, sought for kidnapping the baby girl is facing any charges.

Police said Lee got into an argument with the child’s parent at 6:29 p.m. Wednesday at the Kehalani Mako Gas station in Wailuku.

Lee rammed baby’s mother’s car with her gray Honda four-door sedan. Lee took the child, Lilikoi Ibara, from her 34 -year-old mother, who is from Pukulani, fleeing in the Honda sedan.

The Honda was abandoned at a restaurant in Wailuku.
