Possible drowning victim off Kailua identified as Captain Cook woman

A snorkeler who died after being found found floating in waters of Kua Bay in Kailua-Kona Friday has been identified as a Captain Cook woman, police said.

The woman was identified as 44-year-old Carol Vandermyden.

Police are investigating the possible drowning and ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
