Honolulu police investigate the scene of a fatal collision near Laie tonight.

Police are looking for a third vehicle involved in a crash Thursday in Laie that resulted in the death of an 82-year-old Laie man who was a passenger in a 2010 Toyota RAV4.

Police said the RAV4 driver, a 77-year-old woman, attempted to turn left into a driveway at or near 55-164 Kamehameha Highway, crossed the center line, and collided head on with a 2010 Nissan Armada. The Armada stayed at the scene.

But the police investigation revealed damage to the rear of the RAV4, and fresh broken glass, indicating a third vehicle was involved, police said.

The third vehicle is described as large, possibly a light colored sport utility vehicle, truck or van. The vehicle fled and may have damages to the left front or left side, police said.

The crash occurred at 3:27 p.m. Thursday on Kamehameha Highway south of Pekelo Place.

The RAV4 driver, her front-seat passenger, the Nissan driver, a 54-year-old man, were all taken in serious condition to the Queen’s Medical Center.

The 82-year-old man, Arthur Enos, died of multiple blunt force injuries due to the accident, the city Medical Examiner’s Office said.
