High surf advisory issued for north facing shores

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for north facing shores beginning 6 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

Surf along north facing shores is expected to rise to 14 to 18 feet. Strong breaking waves, shore break and strong currents make swimming difficult and dangerous.

Beachgoers should heed all advice from ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
