Three arrested after handing over stolen property to HPD

Two men and one woman were arrested this weekend in Pearl City after they handed over stolen property from a vehicle break-in, police said.

Police said a 46-year-old man reported Saturday that someone broke into his truck overnight and that his wallet and personal information were stolen.

A few minutes later, the victim noticed suspicious people near his home and confronted them. The suspicious people handed over the man’s property when officers arrived, police said.

Police arrested the three suspects, all of Pearl City, without incident for investigation of petty theft at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The men, ages 18 and 30, share the same last name and address.

The younger man and woman were also booked for investigation of identity theft. The woman had five warrants.
