Hawaii’s Dominic DeMiero delivered a pitch in the first inning against Nevada.

Eric Ramirez drew a bases-loaded walk to force in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning to lift the University of Hawaii baseball team to a 3-2 victory over Nevada tonight at Les Murakami Stadium.

The Rainbow Warriors had tied it at 2 on shortstop Dustin Demeter’s one-out triple to right. Nevada’s Mark Nowaczewski, who had not issued a walk in the previous seven innings, then walked Kekai Rios and Adam Fogel to fill the bases. Ramirez then drew the third consecutive walk.

Dylan Thomas, fully recovered from a back strain suffered three weeks ago, pitched the final two innings for the victory.

The ‘Bows improved to 17-8, matching their best 25-game start since 2007, and extended their winning streak to seven games.

The four-game series continues with Saturday’s 6:05 game.
