Work furlough inmate fails to return to Hale Nani on Big Isle

Spencer Feary, 30, did not return to the Hale Nani reintegration center Monday evening.

Big Island police are looking for a 30-year-old work furlough inmate who failed to return to the Hale Nani reintegration center.

Spencer Feary was scheduled to return to Hale Nani, a dorm-style building in Panaewa at 8:30 p.m. Monday, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

Hale Nani offers reintegration services and a work release program for inmates.

Police were notified of Feary’s failure to return.

Feary is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is serving a sentence for second-degree robbery.

Feary’s next parole hearing is scheduled for October.

Anyone with information on Feary’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
