Man charged in Nuuanu love triangle clash
A 38-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly struck his wife’s boyfriend with his truck in Nuuanu.
Anthony K. Grace was charged Thursday night with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and first-degree criminal property damage. His bail has been set at $100,000.
At about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday near the Nuuanu YMCA on Pali Highway, police said a man later identified as Grace struck the victim, 39, with his vehicle.
Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a hospital in critical condition.
Police arrested Grace at 9:40 p.m. near the YMCA on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police also arrested his wife, 34, at the same location on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening after she allegedly wielded a bat during a dispute with her boyfriend. She was released pending further investigation.
Grace has a criminal record of petty misdemeanors that include operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant, consuming or possessing intoxicating liquor while a passenger in a motor vehicle and fourth-degree theft.
