Police investigate arson at Kapolei store

Police are investigating an arson case in Kapolei after an unknown male suspect allegedly set fire to clothes at a Kapolei retail store in a scheme to divert attention.

The fire occurred at about 8:10 p.m. Wednesday. Police said a customer extinguished the blaze and the suspect fled.

A wagon that contained merchandise from the store, which police said appeared to be staged to be stolen from the establishment was found.

There are no arrests at this time.
