Shark warning signs remain up at Makaha Beach

Shark warning signs remain up at Makaha Beach this morning as a precaution following an apparent attack on a surfer Thursday afternoon.

At about 2:35 p.m. yesterday, Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguards were alerted to a surfer injured by a shark of unknown size. The 20-year-old male received minor lacerations to his leg but declined treatment by Emergency Medical Services. The signs will remain up until at least 2:35 p.m. this afternoon.
