Man in critical condition after being struck by vehicle in Hauula

A 66-year-old man was transported to a hospital in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle in Hauula.

Just after 11:40 p.m. Sunday, a vehicle operated by a 35-year-old man was traveling south on Kamehameha Highway when the vehicle struck the pedestrian fronting the 7-Eleven store.

Police said the pedestrian was not in marked crosswalk at the time of the collision.

Emergency Medical Services transported the 66-year-old man to an area hospital.

Police said speed and alcohol were not involved. Weather and lighting conditions may have been factors.

Police are continuing their investigation.
