Three hikers lost on Waimano Trail in Pearl City
Fire rescue personnel are assisting two tired hikers and searching for three lost hikers tonight.
Fire Capt. Scot Seguirant said a man and woman were trying to get to the Haiku Stairs from the Moanalua Valley side of the mountain, but called the fire department at about 5:09 p.m. when they got tired and couldn’t get down.
Fire personnel hiked up to their location on the Haiku side and assisted the pair down the trail.
Meanwhile, three hikers — two men and a woman — were lost on the Waimano Trail in Pearl City.
The fire department got the call for help at 7:03 p.m., but had not made contact with them at 7:17 p.m.
Fire personnel were trying to obtain the coordinates of their location from the cell phone call.
