Power outage affects 2,400 customers in Kalihi

Approximately 2,400 customers were without power this morning in Kalihi.

Hawaiian Electric Company said the outage was first reported at 8:05 a.m. and affected homes and businesses from the H-1 freeway mauka to Kalihi Valley.

According to HECO’s website, power was restored to nearly all customers by 9 a.m. A small number of homes in Kalihi Valley are still without power; HECO expects repairs to be completed by 11 a.m.

No cause for the outage was immediately available.
