Kamehameha Schools names 11 tenants for Haleiwa project

Kamehameha Schools has named 11 tenants for its commercial property in Haleiwa.

The state’s largest private landowner has signed lease agreements with Whaler’s General Store and fruit stand, T&C Surf, Fatboys, Haleiwa Thai (formerly Haleiwa Eats), Island Vintage Coffee, Kahala Sportswear, Mahina, Splash, and Uncle Bo’s. Existing tenants Global Creations  and Matsumoto Shave Ice, which will be expanded to double its original size, will remain open during construction. 

Kamehameha Schools, which owns 363,000 acres of land, will complete construction of Haleiwa Store Lots next fall. The nonprofit is redeveloping the area along Kame-ha-meha Highway between Kewalo and Mahaulu lanes in the historic town.

The redevelopment, part of a strategy to increase sources of revenue through additional lease space, is estimated to cost $16.1 million.

The Sullivan Family of Cos. will operate the Whaler’s General Store, a convenience shop for sundries, gifts and souvenirs and an open-air, country fruit stand with locally-grown produce. The project also calls for 95 parking stalls at the rear of the project.
