Man, 18, charged in Kapalama shopping center stabbing

An 18-year-old Kalihi man was charged Thursday with the stabbing of another man near the Longs Drugs store at the Kamehameha Shopping Center in Kapalama Tuesday night.

Starchel Cantorna is charged with second-degree assault and was being held on $25,000 bail.

Paramedics were called to the shopping center at 7:33 p.m. Tuesday and took a 21-year-old victim to the hospital in serious condition with stab wounds.

Police arrested Cantorna on Gulick Avenue later Tuesday night.

He was expected to make his initial District Court appearance today.
