Loud muffler leads to arrest of suspected mo-ped thief
A suspected mo-ped thief wasn’t able to make a quiet getaway last night because a loud muffler led to his capture.
Police said they stopped a 47-year-old man on a mo-ped on Date Street, a few blocks away from Kapahulu Ave., just after midnight because of noise complaints from a nearby business.
A check revealed the mo-ped was stolen and the Waianae man was arrested, police said.
