Man held in alleged assault on police officer
A 32-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly assaulted a police officer Sunday afternoon.
Honolulu Police Department patrol officers were sent to Waikiki to respond to an argument complaint. The officers directed the suspect to leave but before they could escort him away, the suspect struck one of the officers, police said.
The man was arrested for first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
