House Speaker Paul Ryan and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz are about to test voters’ anti-establishment mood, first hand.

WASHINGTON >> House Speaker Paul Ryan and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz are about to test voters’ anti-establishment mood, first hand.

Fifteen states from Florida to Arizona still have House primaries in an election year that’s seen both parties’ supporters seethe against Washington. That includes challenges against the Wisconson Republican Ryan and the Florida Democrat Wasserman Schultz, who abruptly resigned recently as chair of the Democratic National Committee.

Each of them seems likely to prevail. But surprises can happen in low-turnout summer primaries.

This year’s primaries are a prelude to a November election in which Democrats will make a long-shot bid to capture House control.

I don’t think either of them deserve election. Don’t know anything about their opponents, though.

  2. HanabataDays says:

Wasserman-Schultz is facing a determined and well-financed opponent in Tim Canova. I hope he’s successful in ousting her. She thinks of herself first, last and always. She’s used her fiefdom at the DNC almost as a personal campaign committee. She needs to find herself a real job, and it’s not in DC.

    geevum!

    • klastri says:

How do you expect that Mr. Trump will make America great again (as if it’s not already great) while his campaign collapses?

Let me guess … the campaign is rigged?

    • Boots says:

lol, sad to say, I seem to be right about the Donald. I predicted he would not release his taxes. Then I predicted he would not debate sweet Hillary. Now he might just drop out. I hope he doesn’t.

      • dsl says:

Well Boots – we all know you’re the smartest one on this forum. Kudos to you! Don’t get a cramp patting yourself on the back now, you hear?

      • MoiLee says:

You have to give credit ,where credit is due Boots.Donald is not only fighting the Democrats, and his own party members, But also the MSM! The MSM is ferocious on Donald Trump , they always have an ulterior motive. They will always set him up from the get go! And Yes! They’re all in the tank with the Clintons and the Democratic Party. Smart people see and KNOW this! Where is the REAL, Honest, fact based Journalism?

Recently he appologized to the Pakistani/5 Star Family.Khizr and Gahzala Khan who lost their son in Battle……yeah .yeah we heard his remarks ,about his wife not speaking up! He appologized!

Compared to Hillary Clinton? How did Hillary appologize to the Victims of the Families,(5 star Families) for the killings of theirs sons in Benghazi?.This is what she said to them…… “she would catch the ones responsible for “the Video”.
But when Hillary, later, told everybody, including the MSM , that it was indeed a terrorist attack! And rebutted the families that said it was spurned from a video.
What did Hillary say to MSM about the Family response? That”Those Families who’s sons were slain in Benghazi, were?…..get this….”They were Lying” that’s right! She called them all Liers! She out and out called those “5 Star families” LIERS! WOW! Where was the outrage of the MSM? Nada!Crickets were louder that them!
And yet,the MSM gives her a free pass for that……hows that!

Imagine if it was The Donald? Brahhhhhh. So give credit ,where credit is ……..due. Go Donald!

Who’s got the $400,000,000? I hope they got a receipt.

        • lespark says:

They can buy a lot of RPGs, bombs, ak47s, chlorine gas, to kill Americans. Obama commutes 214 criminals. Crooked Hillary continues her lying ways. I hope the Democrats are proud of their crooked candidate. It tells you about their character.

Most incumbents don’t need to worry; they almost always get reelected. This country’s election system is just one big popularity contest. And money buys popularity and name-recognition. Most do not need to be effective to get reelected; just looks at those in office now. We would be aghast to see the inner workings of Washington where reelection is priority, not the wishes of the people. I don’t imagine Hawaii politics is much different.

  5. MoiLee says:

Paul Ryan will face a stiff challenge in reclaiming his senator seat, mainly because of his weakness in the USHOR and also his reluctance to endorse the people’s choice for POTUS…. The GOP’s nominee Donald J. Trump. The optics are not good for Paul Ryan, not good! Heck! even his own constituents see this as an Unsupportive move, Unsupportive to the will of the people, the very people who elected him into office. His actions seems more abiding to party lines, is quite obvious! Instead doing the will of the people. His mistake was, not listening to his own constituents. Which he may pay dearly for.

As for Debbie Wasserman Schultz? Do the “Just” thing, that’s all to it.
After the “Fall -out” of the DNC emails?& Now? We see more Fallout? 3 more people in the DNC resigning…CEO Amy Dacey, communication director Luis Miranda and the CFO officer Brad Marshall. Sneaky guys! Sneaky, sneaky. There is only one outcome, & a nice place, for the nasty deeds these people did to poor Bernie Sanders…..
I say,Ms Schultz and her sneaky colleagues, deserve a vacation.Say what ? Yes thats right I said a VACATION for their “Deeds”. And let’s also provide them with a “Nice” room ……… in a “Nice” prison cell.IMUA

A plague on both their houses. George Washington was absolutely correct in 1796 when he warned us against the development of political parties in the new nation.
