Police are investigating Friday’s armed robbery of the American Savings Bank at Pearlridge Center.

According to police, two men entered the bank around 10 a.m. and demanded money from a teller while brandishing handguns. The suspects, who both wore hoodies and masks, fled on foot.

Earlier this month two armed men robbed another American Savings Bank, in Salt Lake. Police have not said whether they believe the same two men who robbed the Salt Lake bank May 13 may be involved in Friday’s heist.

Multiple news reports linked the robbery to the arrest of three men for allegedly trespassing at Fort Shafter.

However, a Hono-lulu Police Department spokes-woman would only acknowledge that police were in custody of three males for “unrelated misdemeanor offenses.”

As of 8:50 p.m. Friday the three men had not yet been booked.
