Rover's landing launches research for UH scientist

About 20 University of Hawaii faculty members, students and community members watched the successful landing of the NASA rover Curiosity on the surface of Mars on Sunday at the Pacific Ocean Science and Technology building. UH geologist Scott Rowland, right, and his son Kai, 7, applauded the landing.
