The city closed the Puu O Kapolei Archery Range in Kapolei indefinitely after vandals damaged several bales and targets.

The vandalism apparently occurred over the Christmas holiday and was discovered Friday morning, said Sheila Wensel, recreation supervisor with the Department of Parks and Recreation.

The facility, formerly known as the Fort Barrette Archery Range, is maintained by the Bushwackers Archery Club of Kapolei.

Wensel said the facility is usually open on weekends. She did not know when the facility will re-open.

I see this all the time. It is so inexpensive--my kids use a cam outside to film the wildlife at night for fun. In the areas--schools--put up a cam which shows the time-- record the license plates in one direction and the area in another. When shown on TV, it makes and impression and of, course, the HPD can book 'em!!!

The place is most likely run on a shoestribg budget. Maybe you can donate the equipment and add to their maintenance fund.
