Puna man charged with threatening business’ staff with knives

Hawaii County police arrested an 18-year-old Puna man Wednesday afternoon for allegedly threatening the staff of a Pahoa town business.

Police arrested Cordell Studley of Pahoa after he allegedly threatened with a couple of knives the staff of a business, located at 15-2875 Pahoa Village Road, police said.

The victims said the suspect walked into their business and used a telephone without permission.

When the staff members would not permit him to use the phone again, he allegedly brandished two knives and threatened them, but no one was injured, police said.

Prosecutors charged Studley with two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and was being held in lieu of $4,000 bail.
