LAST UPDATED: 02:52 a.m. HST, Sep 04, 2013

A surfer, reportedly in his 20s, was found unconscious in the water Tuesday afternoon by fellow surfers in Waikiki near Kaimana Beach, the city Emergency Medical Services Division reported.

The man was apparently surfing at Tonggs surf break, and was discovered at 2:35 p.m. about 100 yards offshore, said Department of Emergency Services spokeswoman Shayne Enright.

Ocean Safety Division lifeguards used a watercraft to bring the man to shore at Kaimana Beach.

Lifeguards performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation until EMS personnel arrived.

The man had no apparent injuries, Enright said.

Paramedics took him in critical condition to a hospital, Enright said.

"Yikes" you say? "Probably a different race" and "typical Kaimana surfer" you say? Sounds like allie has an alternate screen name. I shudder to think there are two of you around.

Don't know if this will be read but my comment above was a parody of the SA's #1 poster. I have gone over to Civil Beat.

WOW, no wonder we have so many problems with our children growing up with racial attitudes when adults can't even read an article and speak of race rather than feeling bad about what happened to this young man who is in bad condition. You see we who would not react that way knew "Kaimana Beach" as "Sans Souci". More respect and less racial attitude is part of Life. Hello, get over yourselves! Auwe!
