Krystle Marcellus / kmarcellus@staradvertiser.com
Asofitu Fio, charged with the rape of a Cedar Street woman, appeared Monday in District Court in Honolulu.
The 30-year-old Honolulu man accused of raping three women in their apartments in separate incidents confessed to committing two of the sexual assaults, Deputy City Prosecutor Rochelle Vidinha told a state judge Wednesday afternoon.

An Oahu grand jury returned an indictment Wednesday charging Asofitu Fio with the sexual assaults of all three women.

Circuit Judge Richard Perkins confirmed Fio's $1 million bail.

Vidinha told Perkins that Fio is a violent, sexual predator who punched, choked, smothered and threatened his victims into submission and told them he would kill them if they reported to police.

Hi attorney said this would be a "slam dunk" acquittal on the TV interview. Just curious as to where his attorney was educated as he clearly dropped the ball before doing the slam dunk. Hopefully his client will be sent to Arizona where he now belongs...

His attorney is such a shark. He'll probably find a way to blame the victims and say his client is a victim. Remember, this is the same attorney who defended Kirk Langford, the guy who killed the Japanese tourist and dumped her body in the ocean. He'll do anything to get his client off. I guess that makes him a good defense attorney, but not a very good human. Nevertheless, it is still by his choice.

I'm glad that he admitted his crime. This helps with the healing process for those ladies and they will not have to relive that nightmare again in front of the jury and court room and news media

On another news site several backers, probably relatives, were insisting that HPD got the wrong guy. I wonder what they have to say now. It came straight from his mouth.

Castration is appropriate in this case. These foreigners come here and have the nerve to commit these types crimes. He and his family should be deported back to wherever they come from.
