Hawaii County firefighters search for man who fell in river

Hawaii County firefighters resumed a search this morning for a 34-year-old man who apparently tripped and fell into the Wailuku River while fishing Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses saw the man fall into the river at about 5:46 p.m., the Fire Department said in a news release.

Firefighters searched the shoreline and search and rescue crews searched the river and harbor area past sunset.
