Police have charged a 30-year-old Waianae man who allegedly stole merchandise from a Pearl City retail establishment on Friday evening.

According to police, Shaun Hew Len entered the store, placed merchandise in a cart, then exited through a side door without paying. A loss prevention officer stopped Len as Len loaded the merchandise into a waiting vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene and police have yet to identify the male driver.

Len was charged Saturday with second-degree theft. His bail was set at $40,000.
