Police say officer attacked on Ward Avenue

Honolulu police arrested a 45-year-old man, who allegedly assaulted a police officer on Ward Avenue Thursday.

The officer responded to an incident on Ward Avenue at about 3:50 p.m. when the suspect attacked him, police said.

Police then arrested the suspect.

The State not the City is in charge of corrections....they use to have quite a lot of inmate worklines back in the 1980s supervised by correction officers...but the program was cut back drastically probably due to the political pressure by the public employees union on convicts doing work that union employees could do instead......
