Strong, gusty winds expected to blow in Saturday

By Star-Advertiser staff

LAST UPDATED: 05:28 a.m. HST, Mar 14, 2014

A building high-pressure area north of the state is expected to bring strong and gusty trade winds to the islands Saturday through Sunday afternoon.

Weather officials expect winds gusting over 65 mph in some areas with sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph.

Everyone is advised to tie down loose outdoor objects and to watch for falling tree branches. Power lines and roofs could also suffer damage from the high winds.
