Investigators looking for cause of Waialua brush fire

Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of an early morning brush fire Thursday near the Puuiki Cemetery in Waialua.

The fire scorched about a half an acre of land on Puuiki Street after it was reported at 2:46 a.m.

It took 11 firefighters under an hour to get the blaze under control.

No structures were damaged. No injuries were reported.

There is no need for an in depth investigation. There are homeless camps around there. There was another fire there about a year ago. Maybe they were cooking a May Day Dinner and somebody fell asleep.
