By Star-Advertiser Staff

Visits at the Waiawa Correctional Facility are canceled Saturday due to a power outage caused by a downed power line.

Crews have been notified to fix the line.  Electricity is expected to return later in the day, according to the Department of Public Safety.

The Department of Public Safety is also putting out visitation cancellation notices through social media between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on scheduled visitation days.

To find out more about visitation schedules for each facility go to dps.hawaii.gov

the guards knocked off the power as a diversion tactic for getting so much heat for cancelling visitations by calling in sick. This is the new tact. What'll they think of next?
