By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

A 32-year-old Hickam Air Force Base man was charged Friday with choking his 15-year-old stepson during an argument.

Police said the man was intoxicated when he restrained the boy's breathing during an argument about 3:40 p.m. Thursday.

Here we go again......sounds like the beginning of another "Naeem Williams" case. Does the guy have to kill his stepson before something serious gets done???

So you're using "Hickam" as the similarity between the subjects to come up with that falacy? Not saying that the boy's issues are nothing serious, but in your attempt to relate the 2 is a totally invalid arguement.

My comment in no way focuses on Hickam. You made that assumption yourself. I didn't even use the word. Rather, my point focuses on yet another case of child abuse, whether the child is a 4 year old girl or a 15 year old boy: still a child. Hickam has nothing to do with it, other than being the location of the crime.

Not every incident is a Naeem Williams. That little girl was abused and tortured by both his father and second wife. This is a teenage boy and probably kept arguing with his drunken hot head step-dad.

So you condone the drunk, hot head, step-dad exercising his maturity and resolve by choking his stepson? That makes it OK?? That's the same type of "maturity and resolve" Naeem Williams and his second wife showed their daughter. No excuse for an adult to choke a child....EVER.

First and foremost rule is not to argue with a hot headed drunk guy. Being a teenager he probably kept arguing instead of walking away until his stepdad is more sober.

First and foremost rule should have been for the stepfather to set a better example for his teenage son by being a more responsible adult role model.
