Mom defends Taco Bell worker charged with BB gun shooting of customer

By Associated Press

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. >> The mother of a Massachusetts Taco Bell employee charged with using a BB gun to shoot a belligerent customer upset at poor service is a "good man and hard worker" who was defending himself.

Steven Noska was released on $250 bail after pleading not guilty Tuesday to charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Springfield police say the 26-year-old Noska used a BB gun he retrieved from is car to shoot a customer who was enraged when no one came to the drive-thru window to take his order at 4 a.m. Sunday. The customer also allegedly banged on the locked front door.

Noska's mother, Mary-Elizabeth Bewsee, tells the Boston Herald (http://bit.ly/WhppYT ) that the customer got inside and started knocking items off the counter, then attacked her son on the outside.

A simple call to 911 would have solved this problem. Now look at the mess this young man has made.

He got in because "My good boy" probably opened the door to confront the guy because he is just as much a hot head as the 4am guy who had the munchies

Much easier to go outside and grab a wimp weapon than to just pick up the phone. Yeah, that makes sense. Mom, butt out and let the law take its course. Your baby boy's -- guess what? -- 26 freakin' years old.

Wrong way to handle the situation. You can't be shooting customers. Now look he is the one being charged.

Really? He has time to go get a BB gun from his car? And who the heck defends themselves with a BB gun? You telling me that a BB gun was able to stop an enraged customer? I'm not buying it.
