Woman charged in Bishop Street beating death

Prosecutors charged a 42-year-old Salt Lake woman on Tuesday in the beating death of a woman in Downtown Honolulu.

Kimberly Udo is charged with second-degree murder. Her bail was set at $500,000.

Police arrested Udo at South Hotel Street and Fort Street Mall, following a fight that occurred at 4:30 a.m. on Monday at Adams Lane and Bishop Street.

The 46-year-old victim was taken in critical condition to the hospital, where she later died.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said the victim died of blunt force injuries to the head and neck and the manner of her death was a homicide.

She has not been identified.
