PALMDALE, Calif. » Authorities are looking for an attacker who shot a man to death inside a McDonald’s restaurant in Palmdale.

The Los Angeles Times says a man believed to be in his 30s or 40s was eating by himself in the restaurant on 47th Street at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday when the gunman walked up, shot him in the upper torso, then calmly walked out another door.

Sheriff’s homicide Lt. John Corina says more than a dozen people were in the restaurant at the time.

Detectives don’t have a description of the killer or a motive for the attack but they plan to review surveillance footage.

Palmdale is about 35 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
