Maui visitor rescued from Pali hiking trail

Maui fire rescue workers airlifted a 63-year-old hiker from the Pali Trail after he fell and suffered knee and facial injuries.

The rescue occurred Monday afternoon following an emergency call at 12:47 p.m.

Officials said the man, a visitor, was hiking with his wife. 

He was transported in stable condition to the Ukumehame Firing Range, where he was taken by ground ambulance to Maui Memorial Medical Center, Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga said.
