Jesus Ancheta Rivera was supposed to return to OCCC by 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police recaptured a 36-year-old Oahu Community Correctional inmate near Keolu Hills Elementary School in Kailua just after midnight Tuesday.

Jesus Ancheta Rivera failed to return to the Oahu Community Correctional Center after leaving the prison Saturday morning for work.

Officers arrested him at  12:15 a.m. Wednesday on Keolu Drive, police said.

Rivera was serving time for breaking into a car.  His parole hearing was scheduled for the end of this month.

He now faces a second-degree escape charge, which carries a maximum prison term of five years.
