Haleakala cabin, campground to close for treatment of ants

The Holua cabin and campground at Haleakala National Park will be closed two days next week as biologists from the National Park Service use insecticide to control invasive Argentine ants.

The treatment on April 9 and April 10 is part of periodic ant control measures, according to park superintendent Natalie Gates.

Holua cabin, one of three cabins at Haleakala, is one of the most frequented by park visitors.
