Weather conditions close Na Pali Coast hiking trail
The state Department of Land and Natural Resources closed the Kalalau Trail along the Na Pali Coast on Kauai Tuesday because of the threat of flash flooding.
Hikers are advised to stay away from the area until conditions improve, and should not attempt to cross rapid-flowing or rising stream waters.
In March, the Kauai Fire Department rescued 32 stranded hikers from the trail after rising waters made Hanakapiai Stream too dangerous to cross.
