UH basketball defeats Mississippi Valley State
The Hawaii basketball team had little difficulty notching its 10th win of the season over winless Mississippi Valley State, 77-48, tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Rainbow Warriors (10-2) led by as many as 28 points in the first half and boosted it to 38 in the second as they continued their best start to a season since 2004-05.
The loudest cheer of the night from the crowd of 3,570 came when reserve guard Dyrbe Enos got his first 3-pointer of the season to bounce through for a 67-32 lead. Enos hit two 3s and was one of 12 Rainbows who scored.
Wing Aaron Valdes led the starting unit with 17 points and six rebounds, while forward Mike Thomas added a season-high 16 points on 8-for-9 shooting to go with six boards. Point guard Roderick Bobbitt had five points, five rebounds, five assists in 19 minutes.
UH’s 29-point margin of victory was a season high, surpassing the differential of 28 against Nicholls State on Nov. 22.
The Delta Devils (0-14) shot just 32.3 percent from the field as they wrapped up their nonconference schedule without playing a single home game.
