Police arrested three women and two teenaged juveniles yesterday in connection with a purse-snatching, assault and kidnapping in a Honolulu-area shopping center food court last week.

A 20-year-old woman with no local address, an 18-year-old Waianae woman and a 19-year-old Hawaii Kai woman were arrested yesterday in connection with the incident last week Wednesday. Police also arrested two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, and are looking for another female suspect.

Police said a 27-year-old woman and a 25-year-old women were in the food court when two teenaged girls, probably between 16 and 18 years old, grabbed their purses off chairs and ran to a getaway vehicle.

The 27-year-old woman ran after them and got into the vehicle. Another teenager jumped into the vehicle after the woman, sandwiching the victim in the seat as the vehicle drove off.

The two teenaged girls beat the woman and she was dropped off at a location away from the shopping center, police said.
