Big Island brush fire reportedly burns two Ocean View Estates homes
An 80-acre brush fire has reportedly burned two houses in Ocean View Estates and forced the evacuation of 30 homes and 50 residents, said Big Island Civil Defense administrator Quince Mento.
Mento said evacuated residents are staying at the Ocean View Community Center.
No injuries were reported, and although the fire has not been declared contained, it doesn’t seem to be growing, Mento said.
Mento said the fire officials received the first report of the fire at 3:45 p.m.
