A 30-year-old inmate escaped from the Waiawa Correctional Facility just after lunch yesterday.

Sundance Cambra, 30, was returned to Waiawa in March after his

parole had been revoked because he was caught on several occasions in possession of illegal drugs. Cambra was enrolled in a substance abuse rehabilitation program at Waiawa.

This is not the first time Cambra has tried to flee while in custody. Court records show Cambra was convicted in 2003 for trying to escape from a work release program at Oahu Community Correctional Center and sentenced to five years to be served concurrently with auto theft, drug and terroristic threatening convictions.

Cambra is described as being 5 feet, 7 inches tall; 124 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and has multiple tattoos

He is also known as Sundance Basel Cambra and Sundance Basil Cambra.
