Kaneohe Marines to remember 5 warriors killed in Afghanistan

KANEOHE >> Five Hawaii-based Marines killed in Afghanistan are being remembered at a memorial service today at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

They died between January and April while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

They are Lance Cpl. Curtis M. Swenson, 20, of Rochester, Minn.; Lance Cpl. Noah M. Pier, 25, of Charlotte, N.C.; Lance Cpl. Timothy J. Pool Jr., 22, of Bowling Green, Ky., Lance Cpl. Jacob A. Meinert, 20, of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; and Lance Cpl. Mark D. Juarez, 23, of San Antonio, Texas.
