UH basketball coach Arnold names director of operations
Hawaii men’s basketball coach Gib Arnold named Scott Fisher his director of operations this morning.
Fisher, 46, is a Hall of Fame player in Australia’s National Basketball League and was a standout player at UC Santa Barbara.
He was a two-time NBL league MVP, three-time champion and played in the 1996 Olympics for Australia.
The San Jose, Calif., native coached the Perth Wildcats from 2004 to 2008, then returned to the United States with his family.
“We are thrilled to have Scott join our staff,” Arnold said in a release. “One of our main goals is to position ourselves to have a strong presence in the Pacific Rim. Scott came highly recommended from the national coaches in Australia. As an Australian Olympian, Hall of Fame player and professional coach, he gives us great credibility and connections Down Under.”
The director of basketball operations oversees logistical and day-to-day needs for the program.
